If you’re opting for a safari wedding, chances are that you want to say your vows outdoors. With 67,000 acres at your disposal, Samara has hundreds of potential sites for ceremonies large and small, depending on the weather. Here are some of the ones that work best:

The Manor, an elegant contemporary Karoo villa with lush green gardens – an oasis in the semi-desert landscape.
Eagle Rock, a lookout point on the edge of the Samara Mara with views over the Plains of Camdeboo below. Best for just the two of you.
By the Milk River, a sometimes dry, sometimes gently flowing watercourse flanked by tall trees.
On the Blue Crane Route, overlooking an amphitheatre of mountains.
Karoo Lodge, a lovingly-restored Karoo homestead with authentic decor and a large lawn.

Important information

Samara does not charge a location fee for weddings. You will simply need to book accommodation in one of our lodges for all guests. If the bridal party consists of just the two of you, we recommend booking a Karoo Suite at Karoo Lodge and a private vehicle (at extra cost). If the bridal party consists of 2-40 guests, you will need to book one or several of Samara’s lodges exclusively. Should you wish to have more than 40 guests in attendance, we can arrange extra accommodation at neighbouring properties or in Graaff-Reinet, a 45-minute drive away.

As well as the usual rate inclusions & exclusions, our wedding packages have the following terms and conditions:

Inclusions

Wedding ceremony in a magical indoors or outdoors location with standard celebration decor
Wedding feast for up to 40 guests (for more than 40 guests, an outside caterer will be required at extra cost)
Two game drives per day for all guests staying at Samara
Bush dinner the night before the wedding
Special wedding luxuries for the bridal couple, including a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine & 1 night in the star bed

Exclusions
