We had amazing sightings the past week.
March has brought us beautiful Sunsets, good weather and rain. The Milk river water level is still a bit low , but dams are almost full and the whole reserve is teeming with life!

Walking with the cheetah – update
Our cheetahs are all doing well. The sightings have been great. We tracked and sighted the male cheetah north of the Karoo lodge and the female cheetah has been sighted more often southern side around Paardekraal .

Birdlife
The birdlife as always is great this time of the year, having sighted many blue cranes, black eagles and other raptors occupying the hot summer sky looking for a chance for a fresh meal.It is not not always about the large birds ,there are many beautiful birds which we see regularly such as Kingfishers. The difficult ones are the little brown jobs which all look the same but spending time with them helps the identifying process.
On the way back to the lodge we had a very lucky sighting of a Spotted Eagle Owl .It sat in the tree next to the road, curious with the vehicle. After it allowed us all a very good look and nice pictures it flew off in search of another tree to perch.

General Game
We had great sightings of general game all over the game reserve and the baby Oryx and Elands are growing up Quickly. Lots of Giraffes, Kudu, Red Hartebeest, herds of Black Wildebeest and Eland were sighted on daily basis which just adds to the excitement of being out in the bush.
