Our monkeys often encounter other wildlife on Samara. They usually let us know when a predator is near by calling and running for safety but many other animals are not a threat to them.
Lucky for us we can usually hear these other animals approach and give them space as we watch from a distance. The monkeys, not being bothered by them, continue on with their day. We have seen our monkeys sharing ground space with buffalo, kudu, hartebeest and many of Samara’s other animals.
We once saw a monkey sharing a tree with a blue crane! We are very fortunate to work in such a diverse ecosystem and it always makes the day more interesting when our work involves getting to see these other creatures.
