“Nala is now 7 weeks and is growing and developing daily. She is currently drinking around 60ml at a single sitting and this is happening every three hours. Before we left to go on leave she could hardly walk and her eyes were only just opening. Her bottle bag now contains her carnivore milk formula ( did not believe till I saw it), her bottle, towel and a set of thick leather gardening gloves. Well when I saw the gloves I laughed – She is a little cheetah after all. Did I get the shock of my life trying to feed her without the gloves. As she sank her claws into my hands, kicked violently with her back legs and bit the teat, I thought that this was a really positive sign that she will be just fine as a hunter. The gloves made an appearance onto my hands rather quickly!! We are taking her on daily walks, trying to give her as much natural simulation as possible and exercise. Its surprising the speed she has at such a young age. With those stalk and pounce instincts developing, she hunts anything and everything. The Mop makes a wonderful target.” – Etienne, Samara’s Head Ranger. For more pictures of Nala [click here]. |
