This beautiful young male cheetah is currently being habituated at Samara. What this means is that we are getting him used to people, so when he is released, he isn’t shy of us, but rather completely at ease in our presence… as is our famous female cheetah Sibella. He will still be completely wild, hunting and fending for himself, but by being used to people we are able to closely monitor him, as well as allow guests the opportunity to observe him in his natural environment.
Volunteers at Samara are spending an hour each day with this cheetah, and he is coming along in leaps and bounds. We hope to release him in the New Year.
