As we move out of winter here we are starting to see the changes in the monkeys’ lifestyle. Although the mornings can still be bitterly cold, with the warmer evenings the monkeys are staying up later, spending more time around their sleep sites unwinding.
The high rivers have allowed us to see a lot of amazing leaps of faith from the monkeys; showing us just how dextrous and fast they can move when they need to. With this we also get a glimpse at how suggestible they can be; once one monkey finds a spot to cross, usually the rest of the troop will follow even though it may not be the best place to cross.
As we go into spring I think we can all look forward to the juveniles starting to play, and get to experience some nice warm days!
